What ever has brought you to our site, we extend a hearty and warm, welcome!
We are a New, Old church. What we mean by that is that we are in the process of re-starting this church which historically is one of the oldest churches in Clayton County and all of the south side of Atlanta. We like to say we are a Historic church, with a Timeless message (Jesus is the Answer) but with a brand New Focus! Our New Focus is to be a safe, genuine, multi-ethnic family of Jesus Followers.
“Safe” & “Genuine” means we want everyone to come just as they are. We never want anyone to feel like they have to pretend to be someone they are not! We all have our issues, hang ups and problems and are all a work in progress. You are welcome whether you've never set foot in a church before, are just curious, or are a long time church attender looking for a new church family. Wear whatever clothes you like and be yourself. The Bible emphasizes that God loves us despite ourselves with an everlasting love! And we seek to model this kind of love for each other – love that is unconditional, genuine, without pretense or implied superiority.
“Multi-ethnic” means we want to truly reflect our community and our community is diverse. Its been said “Sunday is the most segregated time in America.” Yet when we go to the store, work site, post office, etc. we see multi-ethnicity. We believe we are all made in Gods image and their is beauty in worshiping God together. Revelation 7:9 gives a picture what heaven will be like when it says that “every nation, tribe, people and language...” will be worshiping God together. We long for and desire to see the kind of multi-ethnicity, diversity, community and authentic worship we see pictured in heaven, lived out in our church.
“Family” means we desire to be more than acquaintances and even more than friends. Church is not buildings, large impersonal gatherings or programs. Church is people – people called together to love, help, strengthen, support, equip and encourage one another! As I Thessalonians says “therefore encourage one another and build each other up...” and that's what we seek to do.
“Followers of Jesus” means we desire to imitate, practice and live out what Jesus taught as described in the Bible. Jesus has changed my life and continues to change my life for the better. Again, we are all works in progress. Our desire is not to build a big group of people, impressive buildings or programs. Instead we seek to make true followers of Jesus who themselves make other followers of Jesus, who impact and change the world!
We hope you will check us out at whatever level you like. We would love to get to know you better and welcome you into our growing church family.
Blessings in the matchless name of Jesus,
Rev., Pastor Andrew Pasedag, M.Div.
I prefer to be called “Andrew”
